ABOUT OUR CLUB
There has always been a swim club in Abaco. The clubs have been under several different instructors, parents, and coaches. The goal, however, has always been the same; to make sure participants could swim and swim to the best of their abilities.
Abaco Swim Club is a legal registered non profit association that was formed in 2009. After several years of slow growth and a great team of hard working individuals whose goal is to make swimming in Abaco the best that it can be, we are here today.
We operate under The Bahamas Swimming Federation, which gives us recognition in The Bahamas as well as allows us to compete in events.
Presently, we operate at the Long Bay School Pool and Hope Town Community Pool. Our ultimate goal is to own and operate out of our own pool.
The pools are open for Competitive, Masters and Fitness Swimming. The time is changes depending on the time of the year.
From Spring to Fall we offer a "Learn to Swim" Program. This program is taught under the "Swim America" program and all the coaches on deck and in the pool have been trained under "Swim America"
The competitive program is instructed by our coaches Laurence Higgs, Chris Pinder, Sara Knowles and Brenda Sawyer. Coaches train the swimmers to be able to compete in swim meets, locally, as well as Nassau, Freeport and internationally. In past meets our swimmers have done very well.
Please keep our sight bookmarked and visit us often for pictures of your swimmers, upcoming events, time results, station levels completed for our littlest swimmers, and all sorts of other excitement.
